Davido Supports Rema’s Decision To Take A Break

This comes after news broke that Rema has cancelled all his performances scheduled for December 2023 due to health reasons.

Davido showed his support for Rema’s decision by sending him affirming words through his Instagram story on November 29, 2023. He commended Rema for his successful career and urged him to take all the rest he needed.

Davido’s post read, “The Job ain’t easy physically and mentally!! … You’ve done Africa and the world proud beyond expectations… get some rest King @heisrema come back stronger.

Rema’s decision to take a break from performing came after he announced through an Instagram story post on the same day that he needed time to recuperate. Rema apologized to his fans for having to cancel all his performances, stating that he had ignored his health for years due to touring. He also assured his fans that he would return in 2024.

Despite his decision being for the betterment of his health, many Nigerians were saddened by the news of Rema’s cancellations, as he had an unprecedented year of success in his career. Rema sold out the 02 Arena and toured in Europe, Asia, and North America, and his mega-hit Calm Down remix became the first by a Nigerian Afrobeats artist to feature on Spotify’s top 10 chart of most streamed tracks globally.
